Misha Cirkunov VS Jonnhy Walker

The latest sensation in the light heavyweight division meets the Latvian finisher is one of the most exciting fights of the card. First things first, this fight is not going the distance. There are no such things as locks in MMA but this is a lock. One guy is going to get finished here, and I will be shocked if this fight reaches the third round.
After experiencing some losses in the regional circuit, the tall and lanky Walker finally had his UFC opportunity, getting an impressive knockout via elbows over Khalil Rountree in his debut inside a round and then straight obliterating Justin Ledet in less than a minute. He is a flashy striker not afraid to throw impressive techniques and at the same time talented enough to take advantadge of his reach and height. However, his defense still has glaring holes and his chin looks suspect, having been rocked numerous times in the regional circuit. His grappling also appears to be still a work in progress, but he is good in the clinch and as long as the fights remain on the feet, he feels very comfortable.
Enter Misha Cirkunov. Much more experienced at the highest level than Walker, the Latvian is a very agressive fighter who also has some chin issues of his own. After appearing to be a threat to the 205 pound tittle he proceeded to get folded by Volkan Oezdemir in a strange way, getting folded by a single behind the ear punch and then got ground and pounded in his next fight against Glover Teixeira. He is a finish or get finished type of fighter, with a serviceable striking game mostly designed to get him to a bodylock or takedown to start to implementing his agressive submission ground game. He uses some dangerous kicks too when shortening the distance, but is also open to counters. No doubt here he is the superior grappler of the two and if he can force Walker to the mat the Brazilian is probably not getting up and being finished.
The oddsmakers have Walker as the slight favourite sitting at (-130), while Cirkunov is valued at (+110). This is a pick your poison type of fight, and whichever side you choose you would be better advised to do it inside the distance. Even though it is a certain possibility Walker catches Cirkunov very early and finishes, the pick here is Cirkunov to be able to drag Walker down and end the fight there after forcing grappling exchanges on the fence. The pick is Cirkunov via submission, but given Walker´s suspect chin Cirkunov ITD (+140) is also an interesting play, it will all depend on the value of the submission line when released. Cirkunov via submission at anything better than (+200) here is a very good bet.
